OK, what is on your wish list for Christmas this year, whistle-wise and otherwise? I’d like a Dixon low D, perhaps a low G too. Would like to branch out into Irish flute too. Would also like more talent!
Of course, would like to see an end to the war and troops home safely, as would everyone.
Merry Christmas to the good folks on this board, y’all brighten my day as well as my meager whistling attempts. Thanks!
I’m expecting an Abell D via UPS today. This will be my second try with an Abell. I got one directly from Chris and ended up sending it back. It was a beautiful whistle, but not exactally what I was looking for…and for $300 I wanted to be totally satisfied. The one I’m expecting today is about a year old (used) and I traded a one-row accordion for it. We’ll see if there’s any difference. I’ll probably keep this one in any case (or trade it for a Copleland nickle D …hint hint…).
I’ve also been waiting for a Castagnari Lilly accordion for about 8 months, and was hoping it would show up before Christmas, but it’s not looking likely.

I’m no. 10 or so on the waitlist for a Sindt D that I order back in April. And if my hints were not completely in vain, my darling will be giving me McCullough’s 121 Session Tunes. Yeah!
Deck the bows with penny whistles, falalala lalala.
Ok, I’ll say up front that this is sappy . . . but my wish would be for the making of music, especially in worship, to be as highly regarded as the making of money, fame or violence.
(And I’m not running for Miss America either!)
A very Merry Christmas to this wonderful whistling community!

I’d love a truck full of uilleann pipes, and another truck full of perfect reeds, and well, since I’m being gluttonous here, two of every whistle made, and some really nice keyless flutes and, and, and (hang on a sec…gotta catch my breath) a partridge in a pear tree!
Seriously, I’d settle for a really good Gen./Oak, and a close circle of friends to play with. About fifty years experience wouldn’t hurt either. Wonder if Santy Claus can put THAT in my stocking?!
My wish for Christmas is that Vinny’s wish comes true! Also that everyone finds a beautiful whistle in their stocking that sounds and plays exactly like they imagined it would in their wildest dreams! And as they play it, Paddy Moloney walks by their open window, scratches his head and says “Now I wish I could play like that”!
I’m waiting for a Burke low G, for a Parkhurst regular D, and for an O’Riordan D–two years waiting, coming this March.
In the meantime, I’m going to get my wife a very big cedar chest for Christmas. That way, when people come over, I can say, "Hey!, you want to see my wife’s big chest?
Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Seriously, though, I really am going to get her one. I can fill it with very nice sweaters, so she will be surprised when she opens it. I just hope there’s not a two year waiting list.
Well, what I really wish is that my group of friends that play celtic music can get together and have three days of utter heaven together-playing, busking, laughting and just having fun. The hard thing is two the the people (me including) live about two hours from everyone else.
What Santa is bring me for x-mas is a T&G Low D Tunable Whistle, which is a maker I have never heard of but was the best low D I tried out @ Lark In the Morning. By the way if anyone has one of these whistles, or have heard of them I would be qurious about opinions on them…oh, and I am getting a mountain dulicmer, too. And that’s about it!
My Christmas wish is for people on this board (myself included) to try understanding and appreciation instead of hostility when differences of opinion arise.
I’m expecting a new Burke low-C and a used Burke wide-bore brass D in the next few days. Between those and a 6-month old daughter, I’d say the holidays couldn’t be much better.
My wish for the world (and especially the DC metro area): For drivers to follow at a safe distance and to stop at red lights. I know, I’m a naive, hopeless optimist.

Hey Chas - please give us a report on the low C when you get it. - I’ve been wondering if it would be a bear to play.
I just got my Burke B, still wating on a G, because Mike sent an A by mistake, which I’m keeping of course - Ho Ho Ho.
