Are the hyacinths blooming where you live yet? Two have started to bloom here in (my small part of) Kentucky. They make me so happy. They smell so sweet. I wish they were candy. That’s how sweet they smell.
The daffodils are just starting their blooming, too–mainly the miniature ones. The larger ones haven’t started yet and the tulips are mostly still asleep.
I have some crocus blooming. Tulips are starting to come up and I can see the peonies starting to come up too. I have a few hyacinth but they’re not up yet.
I just opened a Tupperware container that has been in my seed drawer all winter where I stored a few very tiny potatoes from last summer’s garden. They have a ton of roots, so I’m going to put them in a pot, and if we get a spell where we are going to be above freezing I’ll put them outside on the porch. They won’t be going outside this week though - it’s supposed to turn colder and snow a bit.
For those of you who like to dress up paper dolls in the latest fashions from the Montgomery Ward catalogue, here’s you a Hyacinth and Richard set. Just print it on some card stock, cut it out, and let the fun times ensue.
No hyacinths, but the bougainvillia (sp) have been in bloom since I arrrived here, 7 months ago. I almost started to take them for granted until I saw this post, then stepped into the courtyard to marvel again.
