The Band I play Irish music with, West of Galway, has been entered into the Battle of the Bands competition sponsored by Strangford Lough Brewing Company in Ireland. The winners of the contest get an all expense paid trip to Ireland, get to play at an Irish music festival in County Down, and earn the acclaim of winning this competition.

I’m guessing from empirical data, but the vid from “MoonDance” is using electric guitars and a drum kit. Oh, and the name of the festival is “Celtic Fusion Irish Music Festival.” So I’m going to say no, it’s not limited to Trad. But here’s hoping a trad act wins.

FWIW, “West Of Galway” is Trad and Pub Songs mixed as the occasion warrants. All trad instruments (if you count the guitar.)

Oh, fer shur! I’ll be on them to take videos too. I bet the sponsor will post vids and photos as well. Oh, and I’ll be on them to take a flute player for back-up in case one of the members has too many pints before the performance or something. :smiley:
