I cracked my favorite D whistle! Split alongside the head!
Is there a specific glue that is recommend? I think it can be fixed.
It still sounds good, but it’s hard to tune, and slides out of tune when I play it.
Thanks for any help!
Perhaps a note directly to Jerry Freeman (he’s a member here under his own name — check the members list) would be the most effective action.
Best wishes.

Will do.
Still waiting.
I have it wrapped in Teflon tape. Still sounds awesome, but will slide out of tune.
I think that I’ll get some glue. I did try super glue, but it amazingly did not work?!?
I know Jerry is busy, so if anyone has any glue advise, that would be great!
I do have my first high end whistle on it’s way, besides my MK low D.
I do love my Bluebird though and hope to save it!!!
Take the head off, clean the crack, if you can and if it needs to be cleaned, re-glue it and put a band around the head, tightly so the crack can’t open again. You can use tightly wound thread, strong tape (electrical tape will do the job) or a metal band.
Bluebird whistle $28.50… get another high ender and buy another one.
That’s what Jerry’s for.
Jerry’s here at the Pipers Gathering. I told him about the issue and he’ll be in touch to sort out a new head (for the whistle).
Best wishes.
Steve
Thanks everyone!
You’re the best!
