Help me fix a broken whistle

I was playing on an old Generation D when it jumped out of my hands and broke the mouthpiece. It broke cleanly right at the soundhole. I know it’s just a Generation but I like it, is there any hope for in saving it?

Try pressing the two parts together. If they meet cleanly and without a gap, you can probably superglue it SPARINGLY. On the other hand, airway physics being what they are, what looks perfect to you might be off a half degree or so and screw it up - or improve it tremendously. It is a Gen, after all.

Why not try to fix it, with the knowledge that it may not work. You’ve nothing to lose, after all.

Whistle suicide is not a pretty thing…But you can buy a new mouthpiece from The Whistle Shop..The Walton fits the Generation D shaft perfectly. I have one and really enjoy it’s sound..

Might try the superglue route that Chuck suggests before trying more drastic measures.

True story: My wife bought me a solid jade flute from Lark in the Morning for our wedding anniversary last year. (The woman is a saint. Trust me. She bought my first whistle, and has put up with 7 years of non-stop obsessive practice. Or perhaps she’s just deaf.) I took it to some friends at new years to play and show off a little. Half-way through the evening, I discovered it broken (sob!)

Superglue brand epoxy put it back together, and it’s still in tune, much to my unending surprise.

That Jade Flute sounds beautiful, what does is play like? What’s the tone resemble?
