help choosing a Kornog CD

Hi there.
Is there one Kornog CD that stands out more then others?
I’d like to get one of there CD’s.
thanks, eilam.

I can’t make a fully authoritative recommendation since I only own 2 of their CDs, but “Premiere”, the first is fantastic. It’s all live from a U.S. tour in the early 80’s. A bit short since it was orginally an LP, but worth owning for sure. I’ve noticed myself playing lots of Breton tunes since I bought it!

I like On Seven Winds . . . the Breton title is something like Ar Seizh Avel.

Well, to make your decision even more difficult eliam, it was thier
‘Korong’ CD that opened my eyes to traditional celtic music over two years ago and it is still one of my favorites. I personally like how Jamie McMenemy’s voice has matured and depended over the years - very rich and mellow. Jean-Michel Veillon is brilliant in all of them, so from a fluting perspective, you can’t go wrong.

Sounds like you’ll just need to break-down and get them all!

Cheers,

Hi Marin and hello to all, what’s the problem?? why choose only one kornog’s cd? Well I have those four cds and I’m a great fan of JMV’s playing style, so my favouorite is the 2°cd Ar seizh Avel (Aka “On Seven Wind”) but I like to tell you that “Kornog IV” contains some of most beutiful songs played by Jamie McMenemy. so listen to some abstracts on the web site and choose quietly…you will soon buy a second cd!
