Tyghress, I have to disagree. You can get more like 6 different opinions but only 17 good debates. The other three debates usually suck.

I’m new here too. These er, ah. . . whistlers seem real nice–they even tolerate me! Well, so far anyway. 
I guess I won’t be really classified as a whistle player until I get caught playing a tune by someone other than my wife or dogs. Then I’ll be classified as a bad whistle player. At least until I get the hang of the addictive device.
When you learn something interesting, or find an easy way to accomplish something whistle related please pass it on. At least to me because I don’t really know much about the art yet.
I’ve been looking for some sort of “Complete Beginner” session, or an instructor in my area to no avail. There are sessions in Pennsylvania, but not for beginners. So, my only real source of help is the fine folk here. And they are great!
Hey There! I’m in the same boat. There aren’t any lessons that I can take in my area. But I have The Complete Irish Tinwhistle tutor by L.E. McCullough and it’s GREAT! I’ve pretty much mastered it…now all I have to do is put what I’ve learned into practice!!! Granted, I’ve been playing religiously since I got my tinwhistle for Christmas (good thing that I have a flexible job…the horses don’t seem to mind too much when I take off for a few hours!!) Anyway, the book is great, and I’ve learnt a lot from it! That was my point!!

hey! I’m from Cornwall (actually 20 minutes outside of cornwall…I live in Martintown) Montreal is only an hour from me…I think ?!
