I’d love to take the elevator part of that ascent, but although I don’t generally have a fear of heights, I’d pass on the free climbing portion.

Exactly. I was ok until he got away from the cage-like portion. It’s not the height per se, but the absence of the supportive framework that would nix it for me. A carabiner strung loosely on a small handle=inadequate.

To be honest if ya don’t have the right boots on climbing like that is a pain in the… foots. I go up three each year for osprey banding, down here on the flatlands the views are spectacular. Some Navy seals were using towers around here for illegal base jumping, they were caught when one of them died on a jump a few months ago.
