Hard to find piping CDs

I’m finding it hard to get these CDs, although the Gentleman Pipers is available easily enough, I’m looking for a single source:

  1. Tommy Martin
  2. Kieran O’Hare
  3. The Gentleman Pipers
  4. Liam O’Flynn Out to the Other Side

I know you can get Liam O’Flynn’s from Andy’s Front Hall, as I just bought a copy there a couple weeks ago. The web address is www.andysfronthall.com They also have a farily good selection of other piping CDs to chhose from as well.

have you tried :

http://www.custysmusic.com

or NPU?

Uh, regarding the first two on your list…forget the single source. Both Tommy and Kieran do lurk and post on this forum from time to time, just pm them and they’ll more than likely be delighted to sell you their CDs directly, no retailers, no middle men, just direct compensation to the artist, the way it ought to be.

Jeff,

You can also try http://www.ossainusa.com

Charlie & Mary Lou don’t list everything they have online, so e-mail them your “wish list” if you don’t find wha your looking for. Their service is first rate.

Cheers,

Larry (No E)

I just got Tommy Martin’s from NPU. I don’t know Kieran O’Hare. Liam O’Flynn is availabel from NPU as well. Gentlemen Pipers I got from Amazon. I agree that OssianUSA is an excellent source.

Philippe Varlet at Celticgrooves is easy to deal with.

He’s running an auction on some rare stuff.

Thanks, guys! This’ll get me started! Reminds me though to renew my NPU membership!

A lot of personally and independently recorded CDs are available through CD Baby and some other places (google for it with quotes around CD name lots of times will take you right to some rare finds occasionally.

CD Baby

This CD place often seems to have “harder to find” albums that I’m looking for, and their prices are reasonable too…

Speaking of Kieran O’Hare, have you heard his flute playing?

He makes that thing roar and his flute is louder than his full set with all 7 pipes going, no kidding. I was blown away at the last school in Elkins WV I attended.
