Happy happy joy joy!

My M & E keyless arrived today!

I’m sooo bleedin’ happy! And dizzy, too. It requires rather a lot more air than the one-peice Dixon I’ve been tootling away on. Thanks Christian!

Anyway, just wanted to share the news with folk who won’t satre at me blankly and say ‘you spent how much? On a plastic flute?’. Hee hee. I’ve been trying it out for the last while, and my God! can this thing ever honk!

I so happy.

Deleriously,
Mark

Ouuuh… :boggle:
I’m so jellous. I’ve just sent some money of to purchase a M&E, R&R.
I CAN’T WAIT!!! Every day is tearing me apart…
I want the flute so baaaaad. How long will I have to wait (probably not more than a week now, but it feels like years).
And here you come, showing all of with your new M&E!!!

P.s. seems like we have a lot in common. This will be my second flute, my first was a Dixon 2pc. Enjoy your new flute.

Hey Henke;

Don’t go too mad waiting for your flute. I scared the mailman today by running up to him and demanding to know if the package in his bag was for me or not. The he got a bit of a laugh watching a 39 year old man jump up and down with happiness. I would’ve ripped it open right there but Christian (the gent wot sold the flute to me) was rather efficient in his packaging, so I had to go inside to open it.

It certainly requires more airflow than the Dixon, but man can it honk! I’m amazed at how much volume it can blast out. The Dixon’s nice, but nothing at all compared to what a conical bore can do for you. I hope yours arrives soon. I’ve read some posts on this forum that suggest that the R & R is even easier to play than the regular M & E, so I’d have to say you’re in for a treat. It’s the first instrument I’ve owned that I can use to protect myself in case of a bar fight as well. It’s certainly heavier than I thought it would be, both my thumbs are a little sore right now.

Anyway, best of luck with your patience and your flute when it arrives.

Good for you, Mark.

You’ll likely find you need less air to drive that flute when you get settled into it.

Well, the day has been spent making myself dizzy, but it seems you’re right, Nano, I’m either more used to hyperventilation or my embrochure is correcting itself. Of couse, it’s just the first day, so I could be just a little too oxygenated and imagining things.

Later,
Mark

Hi Mark,

great to know the flute arrived safely and you are happy with it. Believe me, the dizziness will soon go away and as soon as you know where to hit the “soft spot” the flute will more or less play itself. A bit of practising helps, of course.
Happy fluting,
Christian

Our delivery person was looking at me a bit strangely when mine came as well. And then when I got it inside I just sat there (after jumping up and down for a while) and stared at the package without opening it for a while so I could soak up the fact that it was in front of me. We are wierd about these sticks aren’t we?

Yep. It’s a feadanai thing. We’re all weird, but I wouldn’t change it.

Jippiiiii!!!
I recived the M&E R&R this morning! What a beast! Absolutely stunning tone. Now I can join you in your jumping up and down with happiness.
BEAUTIFUL!!!
