Hangover from hell, farewell from work party!

Oh no!!
The flashbacks are trickling in like a sky news bulletin!

Making a date with the head of catering department that ive had my eye on for four years!

Giving my (now ex) boss a Judas kiss on the cheek and telling him i didnt slate him too hard in my exit interview!

Dancing on the bar in the “Barge inn” with my only other Cavan compadre shouting "up Cavan, up the ra! "

Being politely asked by the management to “tone it down a wee bit sir” while wolf whistling on the above mentioned bar!

News is still filtering in, a bit hazy at the moment, maybe a pint of “genius” in the “Palace bar” will sort me out!

Ouch!

..

Oh god!!!

Making a farewell speech!!!

Standing outside the bar at the end of the night crying like a girl and getting a hug from one of my colleagues while waiting for taxi and trying to stand up!

Wheres that Guinness, quick!

Oh no no no no no. You do not get another until you’ve fully contemplated your last.

Sounds like one of those mythic nights out in Dublin that you’ll never forget.

I can remember walking home from city centre Dublin to Monkstown once in the wee hours after a big piss up. I met up with another half-drunk fellow stumbling home on the coast road near Blackrock. We commiserated about the lack of cabs. I asked him where he was headed and he said he was headed to a village in North Dublin on the otherside of the harbour. I said to him, ‘you are walking the wrong way’. He said I know, but at least I can see home! (ie. across the harbour). Classic.

Way to go Flan..

If ye make it back to that ghetto around the Mater and the Joy, it’s only a short stroll to the Gravediggers.

The best pint in Dublin, in Dublins best kept secret pub.

Most days there is not a tourist in sight. Not one of them..

Are the Gypsys at home tomorrow..

Me heart is breakin’ just thinkin’ about the place..

Slan,
D.

… not any more.

Feeling better yet? Just thought I’d check. Ah those wonderful going away parties.

There’s a line about The Gravediggers (“Best pub in Dublin”) in the film “Stealing Beauty.” I had never imagined it was actually a real place!

#SO HOWYA FEELIN’ NOW, CONNOR? #

I’ll bet Connor is fine… but my head, still a little swollen… thanks Steve… owww. :open_mouth:

It exists, believe me!

The Bar has not changed one bit since it was opened in 1833. Not the easiest place to find and well off the temple bar tourist trail.
An essential place to visit when in Dublin.

Slan,

Ouch again!

i went for a consolation pint with one of the lads last night in the palace bar! There is no such thing as “one” pint!!!

We ended up jumping around in the “ferryman” pub down at the quays, for johnny kellys going away sesiun! Absolutely ass-kicking tunes! Ive never seen a piano accordian leading a sesiun before, man Ciaran Tourish kicks ass!

Needless to say im absolutely jiggered again today, i have to start packing at some stage, try to tidy the bedsit up a wee bit so i can get “some” of my deposit back from the greedy landlord (who has a glass-eye, and i dont really know which one is real and which one is false, so i always get freaked out when he calls)!

oh yeah and i have a date tonight, so i have to put out the candles, incense etc!!

:astonished:

To find out, ask him how much he got for it.
