Hammy's treadle lathe FS

On eBay:

Doesn’t he need that?

It might be a few bucks to get that across the Atlantic.

Maybe after 25 years he finally got tired of using the treadle, and bought a lathe with a motor.

I imagine he has at least one other lathe as well. Many woodwind makers have both a wood lathe and a machinist’s lathe.

whoa…never seen a lathe popping up on ebay! quite interesting.

Hmmm, can I make a blackwood flute if I get this one?

It has been done.

What is really strange is, Patrick Olwell is selling his treadle lathe also!
Just think, it is an Olwell. ( I wonder if I could make a blackwood flute if I got this?

I mean, what if there is a power failure, they will have to add another year to the waiting list!

P.S. Also check out the ivory flute he is selling… :boggle:

P.S.S. If my mother is reading this she an get me the ivory flute for Christmas.

You’re gonna need a lot more than just a lathe to make a flute.

Well, there goes the quality . . . his flutes’ll never be the same.

:stuck_out_tongue:

When asked “Why are you selling it?” Hammy replied:

Basically a question of space. My workshop is small, and I really don’t use that lathe any more.
All the Best

Sold for EUR 500.00 (Approximately US $583.60) to bhpipes (perhaps our pipemaking C&F member billh?)

I was tempted. But as Doug pointed out, the shipping (and prolly customs) to the US would cost many, many bucks; probably much more than the cost of the tool.
