Guess what happened to me today!

We were all eating breakfast together early before my husband John left for work, minding our own business, kids busily munching their various cereals. Suddenly we heard a crashing noise right in our backyard! We ran outside to see what was going on, and there was a HUGE hot air balloon that had landed right in the back yard somehow! I have never been up close to one before. (One time driving to Arizona we saw like 50 of them in the sky at once, and that was REALLY cool to watch, but I digress…)

We were shocked that such a thing could happen, but thankful at the same time that A) it didn’t break our fence or land on our house, and B) it didn’t crash in the canal right behind our house. We didn’t know whether to be mad that the people had landed in our yard, or rush up to them and ask if they were okay.

Right after we got outside and saw what had happened, we noticed no one was in the balloon!

At least, that’s what we thought…

Suddenly two people popped up wearing robber masks and holding squirtguns, demanding that we give them all our playdoh, cake mixes, and organic air freshener! We were so scared they would squirt us (it was very cold outside) that John ran to get what they wanted, while they kept their guns trained on me and the kids.

In a few minutes he was back and sullenly handed over the items, saying “I hope you know, the playdoh is drying and I don’t mind giving it up too much (and the kids make a mess with it), but I’d like you to realize that that air freshener costs $4.99 a bottle at Wild Oats, and the cake mixes were going to be used for a party tonight.”

The robbers laughed maniacally and stuffed the goods in a bag, then released more hot gas into the balloon. As it began to rise and got higher and higher, we strained to hear what they shouted down…

Can anyone guess what they shouted??

Umm, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night? No, wait, how about-

April Fools!

Well, your yard is big enough to land a hot air balloon at least!

Happy April Fools Day!
