Hello!
Well, I finally got my set of McHaffie whistles, and I’m very pleased. I haven’t quite figured out how to adjust them completely yet (my high D is still squeaking at me at the moment), but I’m having great fun with them. Quite alarming after playing mostly rolled whistles like the sweetone & clarke, plastic susatos or a generation or two (which are generally pretty warm) to be picking up this big cold piece of metal and honking away on it until it warms up. 
I am getting a lot of mileage out of the threatening factor of them, too… never again will anyone in my household dare to impugn my tootling while I am wielding one of these babies. Now I know why metal whistles are so popular… they silence critics immediately!
