Got my chanter from my Nick Whitmer yesterday. It is gorgeous. Getting used to it and having an Fnat key for the first time.
Look forward to the rest of my half-set. Nick has been great to wotk with.

You should post some pics and sounds of your chanter when you get a chance.
With your half set did you order the compact bass drone?
A friend of mine recently received a C chanter Nick make. I’ve not seen or heard it yet but I’m looking forward to getting my mitts on it.
Yes, I got what Nick calls the Short Set. I travel alot and it will be easier to travel with. WHn I have time and get my wife’s camera I’ll post some pics.
It is taking me some time getting used to adjusting the air flow, the overblowing flattens some notes, namely the back D. I am used to my old penny chanter. Which BTW, has worked out great for me, I learned to play on it, (am still learning) and I am fond of it. I love the feel of the new chanter though. I am starting to loosen my grip.

Try plugging two of the drones to begin with. I took some toothpics and wrapped electrical tape around them until the fitted snuggly into the end of the drones. I got used to playing with only one drone sounding - took about a week. Then I unplugged a second drone and got used to the extra demand for air.
