Got a Copeland!!!!

I finally got a Copeland high D. Just like Cara! What a great whistle. There’s been enough reviews on this board so I don’t need to go into details but I’ve been playing the daylights out of it. It won’t replace my Burke though as they each have such distinct qualities.

Happy St. Patrick’s day.

How do you find the upper end of the 2nd octave (high A & B)?
Is the tuning good?

I had one a couple of years ago but sold it because I found the high notes too hard to hit. I’ve heard that they’ve changed the voicing a bit, but I’m not sure which direction they went (harder blowing or easier).

They really do have a unique sound.

If ever that happens, send it back if you wish–Mike and Jim
will revoice or, if necessary, replace the
whistle.

Great whistles, IMO. Congrats!

I don’t think there was anything ‘wrong’ with the one I had (one of the best I’ve played excepting the highest few notes) . I had a couple of very good whistle players try it out and they both liked it and said it was “a good one.” I decided it didn’t fit my playing style at that time. However, now that I’ve been playing for a while, I’m starting to prefer harder blowing whistles and would probably not have any trouble with it.

Well then Geekie, I must start thinking about another Whistle Gathering here in Windsor, so we call see and play your new whistle.

Congratulations!

That’s great, Geek. Cangratulations on the Copeland. I love them too. I’m sure you’ll really enjoy it.

That’s what I did. My Copeland came back a much easier blower which was much more to my liking.

That’s what I did too. It never came back. :swear: Jim?

Your Low D still has not arrived??? Yikes!!!
I’ll check the tracking.

Jim

Bretton, I have noticed the high B is difficult to hit but that’s all. Otherwise it’s perfect.

Markb,

I don’t even want to think about how stupid it was that I missed the last one.
