Good Audio File Upload Sites?

I’ve been trying to upload an MP3 file to share with some other student whistle players (whistle on one side, guitar on the other, for “play along” purposes). I guess youtube won’t take audio files, my wife somehow managed to shut down my myspace music site, and a google search put me on sites that take lots of personal info and seem to waste enormous time looking at scary, misleading ads. Aside from shelling out for my own website or something, can anyone recommend some good sites that don’t infect your life/computer and will store some audio (mp3) files for free for sharing with the public? I’ve gotta believe this has been discussed, so reference to a (still accurate) thread would also be great.
Thanks,
Jaydoc

A lot of people use http://box.net/

http://stashbox.org

I second Box.net. Kind of the de facto standard around here, works very well.

Thank you folks. I’ll try them both. Your punishment may be my posting of my moderate beginner warblings!
Many thanks,
Jay :boggle:

Divshare http://www.divshare.com/ is great because also supports Facebook.

Facebook? What’s a Facebook?

I don’t think too many folks would be clammering to see my face. I’m cute but average.

Thanks tin-titan! That’s actually a cool option (haven’t tried it). Maybe can get better audio quality using an MP3 than my little flipvideo (hard to believe an MP3 would be better quality than anything–sounds like a cassette tape to me, but then I still like vinyl).
You folks are great! Like I said, I may have to punish you by recording Farewell to Glasgow (beautiful tune, it’s me that’s not beautiful…but I try).
Best,
Jaydoc
