If you read this, how about a bump?

I may be there it is only about an hour or so from my place.. Don’t know yet. My wife may have something important like a Rubber Stamp convention. Whistle on.

Went last year, had lots of fun. I love having a real, live, local festival like this.

Hey M,

You going this year? I going to try and make it (in middle of a house move).

chris

Sorry for the delay in replying–I just went looking for this to bump it up and found your note.

Yep, we’re planning on going. You might remember Bill from the beginner whistle workshop–he’s primarily a guitar player. The last we talked, we thought we’d go early, walk around some, go out to the car and play some tunes, walk around some more, eat, play, walk, etc.

There seems to be a session after the thing closes down, too, for those in the know.

M

Thanks for making me even crazier. July 19 is the Deep River Ancient Muster, the biggest event of the year for fifers and drummers. Two groups I belong to are performing there, and plenty of friends I only see in person once a year will be there. So I have to go.

Then there’s the East Durham Irish Arts Festival the same day. Every year I blast the organizers of both events for scheduling them together (which they always do). So despite the fact that I live less than 2 hours drive from East Durham, I still have never gone.

Now Gettysburgh has to get in on the act. This looks like another great event, and only 3 (maybe 4) hours drive away from here.

You know that by October I’ll be sitting around with nothing to do every Saturday.

One year I’ll go to Willie Week and skip all these events.
:boggle:

So far, I’ve been twice. It’s a great. There is a mix of Irish and re-enactor musicians that stick around and play afterwards. Last time we played along from around 8 pm until well after mid-night. There is guiness for those interested in such. It’s a small festival in a mostly shady grove. I hope to make it again this year, if so feel free to introduce you’re self if you see me.

A great time to …

Yep, yep. That’s where I first met Lee and admired his custom leather multiple whistle holster.

There’s lots and lots of good food, too. Plenty of Irish wolfhounds to pet, books, music, and crafts to buy.

M

Well, I am still only 1/3 moved into my new house so I cant make it this year. :frowning:
I do want to pass on a web-site I received today from Brian Colgan of Irishtown Road
www.irishtownroad.com
who has been promoting the Adams County Festival. His band will be appearing July 20 at T.Brendan O’Reilly’s Pub in Harrisburg which features live music Thurs-Sun. Follow the link for more details.

Weather forecast for Saturday:

Partly Cloudy
High: 82

See you there,
M

The calendar is clear. I will be there sometime in the morning but I will have to leave fairly early due to some health problems. Looking forward to seeing some of you there. I will be leaning on a Blackthorn stick and wearing a tweed hat.
Ron

I may not actually have a flute stuck to my lips (see picture at left) but I may not be too hard to spot. I’ll watch for you.

Take care and drive safely!

M

Well at the last minute, things cleared up in my schedule, and I’m getting to go! Hope to see folks there and share a tune or two.
