There’s a George Rudall 7 key, and a Rudall & Rose serial nr 2831 in G&H’s July 16th auction. The Geo. Rudall is probably the same flute that G&H sold on September 21st, 2007 judging by the description. I wonder if these flutes are from Andrew K.'s collection? The Rudall & Rose looks to be in fine condition, no cracks, some new pads, nice original case, polished flat cup keys, pewter Eb key. The Geo. Rudall is also in fine condition, two different length head joints, original case

Two very nice Rudall flutes, especially the Rudall sans Rose. I thought the Hawes flute was a typo on Hawkes at first, but I do remember seeing a flute on eBay stamped Hawes a few years ago. It would be nice to get a little more info on this maker.

Thank you Steampacket for the info regarding Hawes, so we have George and William, possibly father and son. Looking at the instrument, it seems to be loosely based upon the Clementi Nicholson’s Improved flute, but without the combing usually present on the head and barrel.
Zooming in on the stamps, it looks like there is an insignia above the main script, which could possibly be a unicorn head.
Geo Rudall, it says OC. Does this mean unsold or withdrawn?

£2,294 ($3,292) (€2,919) is a very reasonable price for such a fine flute that looks to be in superb condition. If I was after an eight keyed flute I would have gone for this one, rather than the 6-key Olwell, or Rudall & Rose 463 that were on E-bay recently
