FS: Whistles and flute

We’re nearing the homestretch. I’m almost completely pared down.

Harper G/A (alto) set – one head, two tubes. These are Overton-style whistles, flat, thin windway, a kind of a growl to the sound, but overall quite mellow. Brushed aluminum tubes. Lists for around 265, asking $150.

Glenn Schultz/Thin Weasel D flute in cocobolo. Brass tuning slide, stainless rings. This is a really cool flute, drop-dead gorgeous. Fairly narrow bore with a small taper. Big holes. The sound is really nice, quite versatile. I’m selling it because of hand problems and also because I have a full complement of small-holed boxwood flutes. Paid $900 in 2001, asking $850.

I’m thinking of selling my Swayne C and D whistles. At this point I’ll only sell them as a set. You can see Wanderer’s review of this D posted a month or two ago. The C has a little more backpressure and can’t be pushed as hard at the low end, but has a nice almost low-whistley sound. These are both English boxwood, complex bores (conical with flare). I’d take $500 for the two. I think that’s about list price; I waited about a year for them after ordering. The Swaynes have a new home

All prices include shipping to the US. Payment must be in US funds from a US bank, or else by Paypal funds transfer. I CANNOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS, NOT EVEN VIA PAYPAL.

I have a Schultz flute just like this (maybe from the same batch) and it IS drop dead gorgeous, with a tone to match.

I have tried Paul’s Flute and that is the Schultz Flute I had raved about.

BTW, check your PMS about those Harpers.

Swaynes are spoken for.

The sale of the Harper set fell through. They’re available again.
