FS/ Two Boxwood Flutes

For anyone interested, I listed two boxwood flutes on Ebay. One is a 19th Century Wm. Pond and one is an almost new Martin Doyle. Separated by more than maybe more than 150 years, linked by the number of bids they’ve gotten so far. None.

Please provide links. Thanks. - Moderator

Thanks, monkeymonk. Nice of you to step in and help the OP.

As a general note: If you’re going to offer an item here by listing it on eBay or another site, you must provide a link. Expecting the Moderators to track down the item in order to verify it is not in our contract. And you shouldn’t depend on the kindness of strangers. We’d be inclined to delete these offers if they weren’t of interest to other readers.

You know where your item is. So please post the link. Thanks. - Moderator

Thanks for your help. I love the forum and appreciate all the moderators do to keep it running. I could play the “I’m just an old retiree who gets so confused by these machines” card, but the truth is I was being lazy and for that I apologize. By the way, I have revised the listing for the Pond to note that one person who saw the listing said the original cap and rings would have been ivory. I cannot verify or contradict this information. I quoted a very well-known maker who worked on the flute and sometimes posts here that it was “polished bone.” I can’t say anything more other than there is a return option.

Well, the Pond did not sell. I am actually relieved as I could not give a definitive answer about the originality of the rings and suspect the person who questioned that knows a lot more about flutes than I do. Also, belated thanks to monkeyman for the links.

Your welcome, i was way overdue for a visit to ebay anyhow.
