FS: Tipple 3-piece C with Fijardo wedge

i just purchased this flute and a 4 piece D from Doug. the stretch on the right hand is just not comfortable for me. i’ve had it about a month and picked it up once. that’s not right. a fine instrument should be with somebody who will play it… so…

for sale: a brand new Tipple 3-piece with a Tipple-Fijardo wedge already installed. it will come with the original “sock” and cleaner. virtually no play time on it. i think $70 plus actual postage is fair? if you agree and you would like a C Tipple, PM me. If you don’t think it is a fair asking price, make me a reasonable offer.

thank you,

be well,
jim

Jim, sorry that you had problems fingering the low C flute. I agree that this will make a nice flute for someone. I will mention that the flute has the standard headjoint without the lip plate, and the finger holes are offset. There is a joint between the hands to help adjust the fingering. I play all of my flutes before I mail them out, and I think that this flute plays well. I have fairly small hands for a man, and I am able to play this flute without difficulty. Like a lot of things new, it takes time to adjust to playing a large flute that requires a bit of a stretch with the right hand. I can’t judge for you, Jim, but I would need more than five minutes of playing before I was convinced that I never would be able to feel comfortable with the larger finger stretches.

Yeah, and Doug should know after all.

I had similar experiences with a number of my flutes starting out… including my Tipple.

You have to exercise and stretch your hands by playing and you will be able to manage with ease over a little time.

Athletes train hard to build strength in their sport… musicians should be no different.

Doug, thank you for the additional input regarding the C flute. I love the D flute and play it daily.

Perhaps the C would be more comfortable if i used a “piper’s grip.” But I don’t. I use my finger tips. Hence the C is just a tad uncomfortable. But, it is gorgeous and has a great tone.

Aanvil: Thank you for your input.

be well.
