Susato whistle set, one head, D, C, Bb bodies, $30
Great shape, hardly used.
Loud. Light plastic feels cheap, sounds a bit plasticky and harsh. Distinct “pop” at beginning of ornaments. Used oxx ooo for C natural.

Burke Narrow Bore Aluminum whistle in D, black tip, $80
Has a C-natural thumbhole in back, currently covered up with clear tape. Used a fair amount, some discoloration can be seen around the toneholes.
Easy to play, smooth. Responsive, light, bright, pure tone, maybe a bit bland. Used oxx xox for C natural. C natural hole gives a strong, in-tune C.

Elfsong C/D whistle set, $50
One head, D & C bodies. D body is Midnight (glossy black), C body is Ruby (deep metallic red). The sticker peeled off the head (I’ll include it if you want to reapply it), and there’s a bit of paint chipped near the tuning slide area on both bodies. There’s some lacquer missing and discoloration on the head, but it’s completely intact and works fine. Has a sealed wood fipple. The head is a bit wobbly, but seems airtight.
Clogs easily. Easy to play, a touch of backpressure which feels good. Pure sound with a bit of air and reedyness. Heavy weight feels nice. Used oxx ooo for C natural.

Syn whistle set, one head, E, D, C, B, A bodies, $30
Good condition, not played much. The A body is a bit squirrely (the bore is a bit narrow for that key). Comes with roll-up cordouroy bag that holds all the whistles.
Some buzz/grit to the sound that bugs me. Plays easily. Used oxx ooo for C natural.

Wooden D whistle from Lark in the Morning, $10
Very loud, squirrely and screechy if I’m not very careful. Second octave unbalanced, loud, out of tune for me. Not easy to play. Maybe you can do better on it. Used oxo ooo for C natural.

Clarke original D whistle, “Tweeked” by The Whistle Shop, $10
This has been adjusted to use less air than a standard Clarke, and the beak has been reshaped to a nice curve to fit the lip better. See details at: http://www.thewhistleshop.com/catalog/whistles/inexpensive/Clarke/Tweeked/tweeked.htm
Still uses a touch more air than average. Old-fashioned sound, round and airy, although a bit whooshy on high notes. Not as smooth and gentle as an unmodified Clarke. It has a bit of backpressure. The modified beak is more comfortable to me. Used oxx ooo for C natural.
