See the post above on eBay experience in my opinion your buying now price is the killer. There are repairs done whether by experts or not…and anyone buying would like to start at a price comesurate & not what the owner wants. I see your offering here but could not find on the for sale board? I’ll offer 150 Sterling or 200 herrings (not sure on what the other currency is that your asking for LoL) Don’t take “ze 'uff” & hope you get what you want or accept my offer? But maybe this will start a bidding war here unfortunately. Regards Neil.
150 sterlings for this flute is an insult. I’m already offering it at a price lower than what I paid for it, and it’s worth more than what I paid myself. 700 euros is a good deal for a 6 keyed flute.

It’s an antique flute, you clearly have no idea of what you’re talking about.
Wasn’t going to jump in, but… The asking price for this flute is an incredible deal (a steal, actually) - I had (and sold) a Potter earlier this year. They are simply superb flutes. If I hadn’t gotten my Gallagher, well…
As to repairs, I doubt that more than 1 in 10 of the antique flutes are “repair-less”.
I was the former owner of this flute. Lets just say that If I had the free $$$s, I would buy it back right now. It has a great tone, and was a pretty nice player when it went to Othannen, and I understand he addressed a couple of leakage issues that should make it even better.
I wrote don’t take “the huff” (in German/French:-) Ben H… must be an ex unit trust salesman, his last remark hits the nail centrally on up & down. Please keep me/us up to speed on your final price bargain when/if sold. Not out of curiosity but the need to thin out my POTT-ing shed of some unwanted uncracked examples.
STERLING is the correct word hence my light hearted remark before on 200 herrings & unless you sell quickly the Euros you may be receiving will be worthless. Now that’s only my opinion & as you wrote below “I know’s nutting”… I withdraw my offer, good luck.

Pat, this is a flute made by HY Potter, he was not related to the flute you had…
This is a great flute, one of the first that I restored. A large holed Rudall design, with the honking short foot. Much bang for the buck!
I wouldn’t pay much attention to Neil, as he says, he knows nutten…
I personally like the pre-cracked flutes, you will be much more disappointed if you are the first to crack a 180 year old flute, best to let someone else do it! those untracked head joints are ticking time bombs! The flute is made from nicely figured Cocuswood, pretty rare in antique flutes…
Was in LA in August, must try and get together next time I’m over Please read my contribution…I never wrote I know nothing, the hopeful seller did If nothing else he’s getting many wishes that “if only we had the dosh” etc I made an offer here as it was not in the for sale section. So I think for the sake of the seller it is best left otherwise it WILL turn sour, however that’s up to yourselves, I’m hopeful that my offer will be accepted, I 'eard zat

Denny, apropos of nothin’. . .I’ve been down so long,. . . .and I did have a girlfriend named Mimi. . .but I am rather shy of motorcycles
Lorenzo, I wish you well on your sale. I would buy, 'cept I have a restoration project which may prove to be excellent, and so on. . .
Your flute appears excellent, and with comes with Jon’s praise and craftsmanship as well, but this appears a very tough market.
Again, good luck with your sale.
