The Chieftain Gold was sold to me on this forum by a member who claimed it was in “perfect condition”. When I pointed out the issues after receiving it, the member said I did it! Now I’m out $150 (luckily I own two, yes two , other chieftain gold low D’s. I really like them ) But my loss is your gain, starting bid for this whistle is just 99 cents! The small dent and the scratch in no way effect the awesome mellow tone of this whistle. It actually sounds a little better than one of my other golds.
Funds from theses auctions will hopefully help me win the O’Riordan or Copeland low D currently on ebay!
I have an Overton Low D. Guys that whistle is a chick magnet. Tuck it in your cue stick bag and take it out sometime. Then when there is a lull
of the juke box. Take it out, and play Greensleeves. Then be ready for some requests.
Ovetons retain their value also. What ya pay for a pre owned can be sold for that later. The only reason I can see selling one is to bid on an O’riordan.
Currently great prices on both of those, but I’m saving up to buy an Overton direct from Colin. After exchanging emails with Brigitte (one of the nicest people I’ve ever corresponded with) I’m convinced that the service a person would get from them is worth any price.
