FS: NR Chieftain Low D and low F

With great reluctance, I’m putting these up for sale only because I play my Kerry Pros in the same keys much more often . They are 2 unbelievably gorgeous whistles - full, rich, gorgeous, even top to bottom, easy to play, the whole lot. Both were purchased brand-new around 3 years ago now and I have been the only owner. They’re in perfect condition aside from the dull patina the aluminum has acquired over the years coupled with the finger marks over the holes from play. Both are tunable. Kevin Crawford has personally-tested out the low D and loved it - I even got him to sign the back of the headjoint, but the signature has since unfortunately worn off. :frowning: I should’ve put some lacquer on there or something…Anyways, they’re amazing instruments and each are $180, or both for $360. They each go for $280 USD new, these days if you but them from Phil. They’re worth every penny, believe me! PM or email at mustbethedouble@hotmail.com.

Did you get these directly from Phil. This is the whistle with brass head joint and alluminum body correct. If so, I would love to get my hands on a Low D in that style.

Keith,

Actually, I got them from the Whistle Shop - the low D is all aluminum, including the headjoint. No brass. Just a standard New Range low D, but a really magnificent specimen!

By the way, the Burke A composite whistle that I listed before is still available - I’ll lower it to $120.

Hope you know that the same whistles sell for $190 from Phil’s homepage, except that they are not 3 years old and or have scratches. I suggest you lower the price if you have problems selling them, there’s nothing logical in buying a 3 year old whistle for $10 less than a new:)

actually, these whistles are tunable, and on Phil’s website he sells the tunable models for more like $285. the non tunable ones are indeed about $190 (99GBP).

The low D has been sent off for trial and will most likely be sold. The low F still remains though - don’t miss this chance to snap up a fantastic whistle!

Gee Hornpiper, with all those “bumps”, your head’s gotta hurt!

Well if someone would pipe up and recognize what a bloody GREAT opportunity this is to own a whistle of LEGENDARY quality, then I wouldn’t have to bump so much!

And yes, I’ve had a splitting headache all night :frowning:

The low D is sold!

The Low F is probably sold once HP checks his PMS!

Indeed, the low F is sold as well! Thanks everyone!
