I’ve discovered the low D and now my children and neighbours are happy. I can’t get over the beautiful sound of the low D and therefore I will never play the high D again.
Because my Merlin Excalibur Gold D7 was way too loud for me, the beautiful people of Merlin let me trade that one for a low and a high D (Black Knight Silver). I was very curious about the low D and had a lot of fun learning the piper’s grip. The high D remained untouched. So, I want to sell the NEW high D. If you’re interested, let me know.
You should put up a youtube vid of that Merlin low D, I haven’t been able to find one yet.
They are very good there about exchanging their whistles, good customer service. I had a Black Knight that didn’t work out for me, and as soon as they shipped it (in the confirmation email) they let me know if I didn’t like it, I could exchange it. Being in the US, it wasn’t worth mailing it back to Scotland, so I sold it on ebay, which is another good option if you can’t get rid of it here.
You might want to talk with Eric and http://irishwhistleshop.com/ about selling it too, free listings until Thanksgiving '10.
