FS in Europe: 6-key Copley

Hi Gang,

It is time for me to part with my 6-key Copley D blackwood flute. It was made in 2004 and is in almost mint condition. Keys are Eb, long/short F, G#, Bb and C. No need to rave about Dave’s flutes here, I suppose. It is a great instrument, period. Dave custom-designed the key blocks for me to allow for easy piper’s grip. The blocks are slightly rotated and have no sharp edges on them. The flute has been played and pampered regularly and has no visible dings or whatsoever.

I ask 1.700 Euros plus shipping. I know that the dollar equivalent of a new one from Dave (list price) is nearly the same, but you’d have to consider import taxes to the EU (+23%) and a waiting list of app 6 months. I prefer to sell it to someone in Germany or the EU.

Finally, why am I selling? Well, I am a piper. And only the occasional fluter. So I have settled for a simple unkeyed delrin flute which suits me better. And I need the money.
If interested, just PM or e-mail me. Thanks.

Very nice playing, very nice indeed! I learned the same tune in Eamonn’s class at Willie Clancy a few years ago.

You must be a hell of a solid piper. I understand needing the money, but there’s a scarcity of lovely flute players in the world and I think you’re a very nice match for this flute.

Best of luck.

I enjoyed that as well; thanks for sharing! I agree with Liney Bear. You sure you want to sell the Copley flute off? It sounds great when you play it and you may regret it. Good luck with the sale if you continue with it.

Thanks for your kind comments. Sure it is a tough thing to let it go. But I have made peace with my decision.. BTW the flute is still available.
