FS: Grinter 6-key

Hi All,

I’ve reluctantly decided to put up my beautiful 6-keyed Grinter flute for sale. It was made for me about 4 years ago, and is a wonderful, wonderful instrument. It’s been maintained well as far as oiling but has only been polished once so the keys have a very nice patina to them. To me this flute plays very much like the later RudallRose/RRCartes I’ve tried, very reminiscent of an older instrument but with none of the usual quirks. Gorgeous colors, nice solid bottom end, sparkling top, everything you could possibly want from a great D flute. New ones are a 3+ year wait. I’d like to get USD $4000 for mine, which includes the lovely wooden box and grease pot made by Mr. Grinter as well. I’m selling in order to finance a new full concert set of uilleann pipes. Serious inquiries only please, email or PM for pix. Thanks!

Cheers,
Ben

I completely forgot to mention that this flute was also set up for my flat-fingered piper grip particularly in the left hand…the blocks that are usually in the way for this are very conveniently and beautifully lowered out of the way, and the Bb key is also activated by a right-hand touch instead of the usual left. So very easy to hold and play!

Bump…surprised it’s still here! Don’t miss your chance on this great flute!

I guess it’s quite a lot for a 6-key and cash flow can be tight in the run-up to Christmas

PS. Giving your location might help, the extra 20% tax makes a big difference on the price if shipping from US to Europe (for example). Photos are good too.

Just helping a buddy …

Hornpiper (Ben) is located in San Diego, California. In real life, he wrestles with a different beastly instrument entirely:

In unreal life, here are a few clips of him on pipes and flute (though not the Grinter):

The flute is sold. Thanks everyone!
