The latest offering for adoption is a 6-key wooden French piccolo by Gonet & Cie of Paris. SOLD!
This is a very sweet playing little piccolo, it will play A=440 for me (your mileage may vary) with the embouchure hole’s far edge lined up with the center of the tone-holes. I really like the tone of this piccolo, but my “fat” fingers barely fit and keep bumping the keys open. {If the piccolo doesn’t sell, I’ll strip most of the keys off and keep it.} I have no idea what wood it is made from, sapwood inclusions appear on the head and it appears the body was stained black with the wood showing on the bottom three tone-holes. The keys are German-Silver and have all been repadded and function fine. I have thoroughly cleaned the piccolo, rewrapped the tennon, mended a crack in the head (see second picture) and tuned it up. (Playing fine!) The head is stamped with the Gonet Cie Paris seal and the body is stamped (I believe) ‘France’ D-flat L.P. But as I said the piccolo does play at modern concert pitch!
Here’s a picture of the piccolo in it’s case:

Here’s a picture of the repaired crack on the back of the head and a tiny divot in the body:

*Note the cloth hinge on the case has separated and there is no key for the lock.
