FS: David Daye 3/8 Set -"Easy Kit" + ... SOLD

Hi Folks,

I have a hardly-touched Daye set needing a new home where it will actually be played.

The set is 3/8 + leather bag and hard case. The set was originally the “Easy Kit” and is completed as far as being completely playable but I have not touched the “decorative” stuff (bag cover, bellows deco, etc.) so that is still in pristine condition. Hardly played and the leather bag is untouched (bought as a replacement for the nylon bag). Buyers in Europe would be best and Northern Germany even better, since once it leaves my door I obviously can’t offer to take it back. The set is in perfect working order, as is the reed.

It would cost you about USD 850 at David’s current prices (3/8 set + bag + case). I’m willing to knock 100 off the price with free shipping anywhere. Customs dues obviously your department.

Please let me know if you have questions. There’s no time pressure to sell and I want the instrument to go to a good home since David’s pipes are quite rightly praised as great pieces of work.

(Updated: MarcusR pointed out that it sounds like I am selling what was a finished 3/8 set. I’m not, and actually this means you can personalize the set even more to your liking since the leather bag is untouched!)

Updated: Well, that went quicker than expected. I have found a local buyer and the pipes are hence now sold.

Hi!
USD 750 including shipping is a very generous offer, that is actually ~250 $ under Davids current price (968 + 40 shipping in the US).
I have heard “Liraman” play his Daye 3/8 set and it sounds surprisingly nice. Should be a very good starter set for anyone i Europe as you also leave out the import duty, compared to buying them new from the US.

I’ll put up a note about your set on the Swedish Uilleann pipers list.

Best of luck with the sales!

MarcusR

Hi Marcus!

Many thanks for the add to the Swedish list – it would of course be easier to ship within Europe.

Just to confirm though, this is a “half-finished” 3/8 set if that makes sense. It’s not the finished set which David sells for the price you mention but the “easy kit” (728 + 50 + 70 for bag/case = 848 USD). I see I left that out of the original description so I have added it in. That’s what I meant with “built to play” and “not touched the decorative stuff”.

Thanks for the heads up – I’m not trying to con anyone here :=)
