I’ve decided to sell my concert pitch half set made by Christopher Bayley UK. Even though I share a mutual 7 year history with that set, unfortunately it wasn’t a playing one …
The set was completely looked over by Chris Bayley in 2015 and it was ready to play when I picked it up in person (Chris is a very nice fellow!). He gave me several drone and chanter reeds for it and in his workshop, I had the chance of listening to the beautiful sound this set actually is able to produce. However, when I got home with it, my inexperience with reeds and drones took over and I soon lost my patience with putting in the required reed adjustments and time to make this set playable for me (I’m now officially going to stick with my practice set).
So I’d like to sell this set to someone who has enough experience to make the reeds and everything sound as they should. So even though the set is in good used condition, I’d only recommend it to someone with reed/drone experience or who has someone like that around to make it work. And my inexisting experience is the reason why I can’t give a “playable out of the boy”-guarantee. I’d just love to know this set in good hands and being played.
The concert pitch chanter is fully keyed and it comes with a couple of spare reeds and blanks.
I’m asking $1450 USD incl. shipping (preferably to Europe or USA).
