FS - DAVE WILLIAMS FLUTE SOLD

Hi all,

I have a beautiful condition Williams flute in blackwood, unlined head joint with what looks like nickel silver rings and soft bag, beautiful sound, and the build quality is fantastic no blemishes, cracks ,splits etc, the corks are intact and the flute fits toghether nicely, the only thing is it would require is a few wraps of ptfe tape on the tennons to give a really snug fit.

Due to Dave Williams untimely death in a tragic car accident these and Daves Uilleann pipes are no longer available new, I am selling as I have recently purchased a delrin Ward flute as I spend a lot of time travelling to varying climates and i’d spend more time threating over it than playing it.
Each section has the makers mark ( williams )

the price including shipping is $ 480.

Questions:

do you know if this tends to rudall or pratten?

how old?

there’s no slide, yes? Do you know if
it’s tunable enough with the tenon to
be tunable enough, e.g. is it in tune
with CDs.

looks nice. I played a DW’s flute at
Ralph Sweets once and it was great.
Kate G bought it.

Hi Jim

from the focused tone I would say it leans towards mr Rudall, you could pull the tennon out about 5mm, but to be honest its in tune, hit the sweet spot and the tone lower and upper octave is great.

the flute is now sold guys, thankyou to everyone for all the interest.
