FS (again) Beckett 8 key cocuswood flute

I am once again selling my Beckett flute, it is ship shape and ready for the session!

Wow! That looks like a great deal. Having done a couple of restorations myself I have discovered that some of these old flutes can be fabulous players. Could you say a little more about the tuning of this flute? Also, are there any crack repairs?

Thanks!

Jon

Flute plays well in 440htz, the A and B have been flattened with shellac, so it plays well in tune. The Barrel has been lengthened, so the slide needs to be pulled out 1/4 to 1/2" depending on your playing. The only crack was in the head joint but it is stabilized. The Cnat block has been replaced, as it had been sawed off!

Here is a photo of the flute when it arrived! As you can see, it needed some TLC…

Here is a photo of the Beckett crown and the RRC crown.

Here is a comparison of the RRC embouchure and the Beckett.

Will no one rid Jon of this meddlesome flute?

Henry II lives!

Another life perhaps… I do seem to get a lot of Henry I’s flute to repair, perhaps this time it will be done?
