FS: Cochran Blackwood Rudall with Eb key...

I’m offering my Cochran Blackwood Rudall with tuning slide and Eb key for sale. I purchased this new from Jon in June of '07.

Here is the thread with pic that he posted at that time.

It’s a wonderful flute, is nicely balanced and plays easily in tune. It has been especially cool having the Eb key. It has been well cared for, oiled and humidified.
I wish I could describe it better, but I’m still a fledgling player. I’m letting it go only because my musical priorities have shifted significantly in '08, and I now have other, more pressing needs.

The flute new was $870. I’d like to ask $780, with insured shipping included for the lower forty-eight.

You know, I’m so low tech. I didn’t quite get the link to the thread and pic to act as a link. Is there a trick to it?

edit. Thanks Irish Marine

It looks like you just need to get rid of the space between the word cochran and [/url]. That should do it.

Wow! Nice looking flute!

I’d say.

I got to play that one before you sent it out.

I don’t think there is another out there like it.

Anyone else make a single key Rudallcarte?

Jon you got any boxwood curing at your place?

Handsome devil–the flute, I mean.

Is someone up there trying to tell me to keep playing?

I would be amenable to a trade for a comparably valued open-back banjo along the lines of Reiter or Ramsey. As I mentioned previously, my musical needs have changed.

Now that hurts… :sniffle:

Yeah but a basic Bart Reiter is $1194.

Yup, seems like a reasonable trade.

Times is tuff for cash Jon.

Don’t feel too bad.

That was a wonderfully good flute you made.

Another man done gone…

I have an open-backed Vega 5-string, or are you looking for a 4-string tenor for Irish playing?

Kevin Krell

Look, I certainly mean no disrespect to the maker.

But musicians’ needs change.

And I wasn’t looking to compare the Cochran to a brand new Reiter. I’ve seen high quality used open back (five-string) banjos out there in the $700-$800 range. That’s seems to me to be in the general vicinity of $870, which was the original price of the Cochran.

I was just trying to avoid someone offering a Harmony or some such.

i think jon was kidding. as if, “his flute was so bad it made you want to play banjo.” jon watches too much south park, it makes him overly sarcastic .

You got that right! I was just kidding…
