A friend of mine who has in the past been afflicted with severe WhOA, has a Fred Rose whistle for sale. She has had it for about a year and has never really played it…that isn’t to say it’s not a beautiful whistle, it is cos’ I had a play of it today! She just can’t get on with it. She wants £100 sterling for it, which I think is about $160 US, plus shipping. Mick Woodruff has just informed me that this whistle retails at about £120.
I would buy this myself but I already have a whistle in every room, in the car, down the garden, in next doors garden, in the pub, at my school, in the schools canteen (lovely acoustics there!) in the school hall and a few spare dotted around the place…In case of emergency’s.
There are some sound clips on Clips and Snips of Mick playing a Fred Rose whistle, on the Airs page and Misc. page.
Dave.
