Many have inquired about my rather ridiculous family. I finally managed to get a picture up. It’s of the family band at a gig we did in Salt Lake City…great audience, about 400 little old ladies and their little old husbands. Much fun.
Hi Doc, check out my kids at <www.youth-soccer.com> in West Virginia. Get in a van and bring your kids down this summer and you can have your own private soccer camp.
Wow Doc - you and your wife must sleep well at night after a full day of parenting - what a great looking bunch- Just a few more and you can start playing full orchestral works!
Yeah, people often comment that Lori and I must be the most patient people in the world. I’m quick to correct them that it merely looks like patience. It’s actually exhaustion.
Shhh, we’re already having a heck of a time keeping the little hooligans from diving headlong into the classical stuff. The little stinkers are winning piano and violin competitions all over the place. You have no idea how many recitals I have to sit through.
My oldest just got a full-ride scholarship from the music department at the local college. I accompanied her with some finger-style classical guitar for her vocal ballad and a violin piece at her audition.
Afterward they asked me where I’d had my “training” and would I like to apply for a job as a classical guitar instructor. I told them they’d probably do better to find someone that had actually had a guitar lesson or could, at least, read music.
On reflection though I should have taken the job. Then I could have kept an eye on my girl to keep her safe from all that classical mumbo jumbo. I think she’ll be OK though. We played Cattle in the Cane today and she tore the place up on her fiddle.
