Forum upgrade, new URL, and Rich says farewell

Well, that took a lot more work than expected, but if you’re reading this then we’re up and running on the latest version of the forum software and we’re at a new home and URL! As always, if you notice any problems please let us know.

There are a bunch of new features and changed interfaces and so on, but I think you’ll find your way around the new version soon enough. Last time we did this in 2003 it went pretty smoothly. Please use the support forum for questions and problem reports.

As for the new URL: I’ve been hosting the forums for seven years, now, ever since Coolboard closed down (!). But lately I’m really too uninvolved with day-to-day stuff to give the forums the attention they deserve.

So, I’m going to be handing forum hosting back to Dale and ending my role as forum host. (But I’ll still give him advice when I can!)

I’ve enjoyed my time here, first participating and then managing things quietly, and I hope the community contines to thrive for decades more. Thanks to everyone for making this place what it is and to Dale for putting up with my excuses for seven years!

And thanks to YOU, rich. All the best.
