For Sale: Old Style Burke Hi D Wide-Bore Brass

After hesitating a long time, I’ve decided to sell my Michael Burke WBB, hi D. It’s the old style, without the Delrin mouthpiece and without the o-ring tuning slide. I bought the whistle from a fellow chiffboarder, who basically started out on it. For that reason, I have been reluctant to sell it, I like that sort of story.

The whistle plays very well, is well in tune and good for sessions if you think you need good volume, without being obnoxious.

Asking $70, I’ll cover shipping. Drop me a pm or email if interested.

I am only selling it because I am looking to finance the purchase of a Throatwarbler Mangrove.

Geez, Bloo, I think you’ll have to sell your Overtons to buy that John Smith.

The Burke WBB is the only metal high-D I’d never part with. I think it’s the best sounding whistle Mike ever made.

Hmm. Maybe you’re right about the yacht, they do come at a fair penny.

UPDATE: Now asking $75 for the Burke WBB. Thanks.

If we hold out, maybe we can get it for $90.

No no, it’s only spelled Throatwarbbler Mangrove. It’s pronounce Luxury Yacht.

Hehehe. I know there had to me more Monty Python fans around.

No you didn’t.

You met I did.

BTW, the Burke has been spoken for. I look forward confidently to the purchase of winch handle for the Throatwarbler Mangrove.

Oh bother. I was hoping to carry on with the skit so I’d get to say, “You snotty-faced heap of parrot droppings!” with impunity. It’s one of my life goals. But you correctly sussed that it was not argument; just contradiction.

Left you reeling, didn’t it? :smiling_imp:
