I don’t know if they have it, but a good place to try would be Ferree’s:
Also you might check with the makers that produce pin-mounted flutes and see where they get their hardware from.
Best of luck–and if you find a source please post it here for the rest of us.

Thank you
You will most likely get an answer if you post this question on the Yahoo flutemakers group. Certainly a good group to join anyway if you are getting into making flutes.
Sorry I can’t provide a source myself. I have been concentrating on block-mounted keys, and have not got into post-mounting.
Ferree’s do not list post mounts in their catalog, though they do offer some things you will need, including a jig for drilling the holes through the posts. You could also give Ferree’s a call. They are usually willing to help locate items that they do not sell themselves.

Dave,
Do you make derlin flutes with block mounted keys or is that even possible or practical?
Thanks
I have never made a delrin flute with block-mounted keys, but I don’t see any reason why it would be impractical. Some of the rough turning might take a little longer since I don’t have any way to remove delrin as quicky as one can turn wood with a roughing gouge.

I believe Casey Burns can answer this, if you
e mail him.
Terry Mcgee made one recently with block mounts, I don’t know if he would do it again… Must have been a tangled mess of delrin strings! How did it turn out Terry?
On the original question, I’m interested in hearing other people’s answers of course, but I solved this problem to my satisfaction.
I unscrewed a post from my old oboe. I took the post to a jeweler who designs and makes silver jewelery. For an initial charge on the order of $60 and a small additional charge per post, I can get as many as I want (or until the mold wears out). Of course, I get the internal threading of that particular post.
Any jeweler who makes silver charms for bracelets can replicate an existing post or probably a wooden mockup that you carve.
