I will be going to Ireland in a few weeks, and was wondering what flute or whistle makers would be worth a visit to check out their wares. I will be staying in Co. Donegal. Thanks for the imput.
if you check out brad hurley’s website, there is a of makers worth visiting.
Steve are you taking your dog with you?
If you are, you’ll probably want a veterinarian along just in case. Nothing worse than a sick dog on a trip to Ireland.
I don’t take up much space and the peace of mind will far outweigh the price of my ticket. ![]()

Sorry, the dog is staying at home, but if ever I do need a vet, I’ll be sure to give you a call, though it might be a long drive from Pittsburgh.
Hmmm, how about an interpreter then. I speak Irish fairly well. In fact I talked with Desi Seery the other day about a batch of flutes he’s sending and I’ll bet I understood 70-80 percent of what he said.

Nice try Doc! But would you be comfortable in the cage with the dog on the long flight ![]()
Hmmm, depends. Is he a nice dog? ![]()

Just tried it this morning…I can indeed fit in a medium-size dog crate.
I can also fetch flutes, bury bodhran tippers, and carry pints.
<hint, hint>
Its a pretty big dog, so I’m not too sure anyone could fit in the crate with him, but you’re all free to give it a shot.
