Flook live.

I saw Flook last sat night in Dublin. They hav a new CD out. They were great! Just thought id share that!

That sounds great. The new CD won’t be released in the States til Friday.

you lucky custard!
They are just awesome live and their new CD is a treat to the ears.

Jens_Hoppe and I are actually seriously considering how far we would travel if they don’t come to Denmark next year.
Japan and US are off, but it seems like we would travel anywhere in Europe to hear then

Can anyone advise me where in the States the new Flook CD will be available for purchase?

Thanks, Tom

I think Amazon.com will have it. They have an ad for it saying Haven will be released Nov. 17.

Thanks!!!

Amazon keeps cahning the date last week it was the 10th and now it is the 15th.

That’s seems strange. Can’t explain that. At least if the date keeps changing I guess someone is paying attention to it.

They are finally going to make it to the left coast this year (I’ve been waiting for years) and they are playing in Redding of all places. It will be worth the drive and I guess I get to see my parents that way…but what a place to have a show.

Well, last year they came to Cedar Rapids  . I think they were between gigs in Minneapolis and Kansas City. The show was on a Tuesday night. They just acted like there was no place they would rather be than in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on a Tuesday night.

That’s very gracious.

I would love to see them. But I have to agreee… Redding???

I’ll bet no one’s told them about Redding…yet…

They are also playing with Karan Casey in Redding…then they move north while she does the more obvious thing…move south…bigger cities.

Oh… I love Karen Casey!

I think there are a lot of sub par Irish singers out there, she is definately not one of them. She has done a lot for continuing the singing tradition.

So while we play ā€˜tag’ with amazon, waiting for the new record, what’s people’s favorite Flook album so far? I’d have to vote for Flatfish. Rubai has some great moments, but I prefer the overall more organic quality of Flatfish.

I really like Finnegan’s playing on his solo album ā€œWhen the Parties overā€, some nice whistle playing.

Hard to decide when I’ve only heard 2 of the 3 albums (besides mp3 teasers for Haven).

I have yet to get Rlatfish I was going to get it along with Haven and probably some Shooglenifty also that will be my big amazon order.

How about ā€œHootsā€?

Favorite Flook! album? Heh, I’ll spoil the party and say ā€œThe Four of Usā€.
