FLOOK NEWS
Welcome to Flook News. Well, we’ve some good news this month - at last,
our brand new album, Haven, is finished. We were racing against the
clock to get it mixed and mastered so it would be ready in time for our
birthday celebrations, but we did it, and we’re really happy with it.
We hope you’ll like it too. You can order it now from our website and
copies will be dispatched in 2 weeks time - that way you’ll get your
copy way ahead of when it will be available in the shops. The official
release date is November 7th, and we’ll be celebrating that evening
with our London show at The Purcell Room on the South Bank, and at our
after show party (venue yet to be announced but you’ll all be very
welcome).
Haven features some great new tunes, and some fantastic guests - we’re
really pleased that Ewen Vernal (bass) and Seckou Keita (percussion)
were able to join us again; you will be familiar with them from Rubai.
This time we also invited the amazing Leon Hunt to play his 5-string
banjo and the brilliant Padraig Rynne to play concertina. Catriona
McKay played some lovely harp, Andy Davies played Hammond organ, and
our very own Mark Tucker added his e-bow acoustic guitar to the final
mix. Special thanks to Mark for staying up well past his bedtime to get
it all done on time. We couldn’t make the albums we do without him.
Thank you!

27th for anyone who is attending the world music expo, WOMEX, at The
Sage Gateshead, and we have some new dates to announce for those of you
in Ireland. We’re performing at the Imagine Festival in Waterford on
Sunday October 30th. Later in November we’ll be down in Limerick and
West Cork. All details are below.
Meanwhile, our 10th Birthday is coming up fast. Please book your
tickets early for these special concerts, come and party, and help us
celebrate 10 years of making music together.

Lichfield or London, Brian is playing a couple of gigs this weekend.
Billed as “Brian Finnegan and Friends”, these concerts will be a rare
chance to hear the beautiful Aran Islands singer, Lasairfhíona Ní

will also be joined by Tim Edey on guitar and Sarah on alto flute and
