“Goodnight Irene” by Gordon Jenkins & the Weavers

“Mrs. Brown You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter” by Herman’s Hermits.

How depressing.

Good gawd – It was “The Tennessee Waltz” by Patti Page.

I was dancing with my darling to the Tennessee Waltz
When an old friend I happened to see
I introduced her to my loved one
And while they were dancing
My friend stole my sweetheart from me

I remember the night and the Tennessee Waltz
Now I know just how much I have lost
Yes, I lost my little darling
The night they were playing
The beautiful Tennessee Waltz

Patti Page – born Clara Ann Fowler in Claremore, or maybe Muskogee, Oklahoma – took her name from the Page Milk Company, which sponsored the Meet Patti Page show on station KTUL in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

That melody comes from something else, but I can’t place it right now.

…shouldn’t tease like that!

1960 … “Theme from ‘A Summer Place’” by Percy Faith :astonished:

(Anyone here with a good cheese slicer?) :stuck_out_tongue:

Big Bad John, by Jimmy Dean???

no wonder I’m eccentric.

“The Love You Save” by the Jackson 5. … like I needed any more reason to be depressed. sheesh …

Oh, and thanks a lot LimuHead. Now I’ve got that feckin’ song stuck in my head! :swear:

“Auf Wiederseh’n Sweetheart” by Vera Lynn

Perhaps that explains my attraction to Bloomfield?

Oh, the wayward wind is a restless wind …
