Hello, I’m thinking of starting out on the Irish flute but am inundated with a houseful of instruments already. So, here’s an idea I thought I’d throw out there. Wouldn’t it be unbelievably great timing if there happened to be a flute player out there with too many flutes who is simultaneously considering giving the fiddle a go? On the odd chance that this happens to be the case, I have an Early American handmade instrument to swap. The maker’s name, penciled on the inside of the fiddle, reads: P. Pogel Midland N.J. 1934. The fiddle is in excellent condition without any cracks to the front or back. This fiddle is woody, mellow, with plenty of bass and loud enough to stand on its own at any jam session. It has the personality; volume and depth to be a great solo performing fiddle too. I paid $850 for the fiddle. I’m interested in keyless flutes, and am not terribly particular about the wood.
