Just for curiosity , how much those early famous makers(Kenna,Colgan,perhaps (Williams)etc) made sets from box, and how
many of those are still on playing?
Interesting jump from Kenna to Colgan to Williams. A game of ‘Who’s the odd one out?’ 
A lot of the early Kennas, more often than anything else, are small boxwood sets. It seems as sets grew bigger, different woods came into use.
You’d find stuff looking like this:
Who’s the present “keeper” of that chanter Peter? Looks in mighty fine shape for as old as I imagine it to be.
