Elfsong Whistles

I recieved my two Elfsong whistles the other day and have been giving them a workout. First of all, they are beautiful instruments. I got a D in the fading blue color scheme and a C in emerald green that is really striking. The interchangeable mouthpiece is plain copper.

They sound awesome! Both have a very nice musical sound to them. Very little chiff and clean through both octaves. The breath requirements are slightly different than the Clark and Feadog I regularly play but a little practice and it’s not a problem. A bit heavy tho. These are made out of a heavy gauge copper and have alot of substance to them. I like them this way. Makes it feel like I’m really holding something solid.

I’d definitely recommend these whistles to anyone. They’re are reasonably priced, I got two whistles and one mouthpeice for $70 and just about a month for them to be made and delivered.

Many thanks to Sandy for making these wonderful whistles!

That’s great to hear! I have a C/D combo coming (maybe it will even be in my mailbox today, cross fingers! Our mail is a bit slow here, especially at this time of year, and I’ve been driving our poor postmistress buggy by asking “is it here yet?” ). Can’t wait to get my hands on it! (Ah, sweet anticipation!).

Sandy made me several D bodies to fit my painful fingers. I have arthritis and Chronic Fatigue syndrome so often my fingers are to tired to press to seal holes. They are superb. Each one has different sized holes or are offset and they are brilliant.
