Our daughter has started playing the flute Sep 2010 and has recently asked for
a flute stand. After searching the internet and seeing what they are, and,
as I was in the process of backing up my camcorder tapes onto DVD’s, I
noticed that the spindle/stand for the pack of DVD’s looked like a good
candidate as a flute stand.
The plastic spindle is a bit narrow and would cause the flute to lean…
but that is cured by padding it out by draping a 1"wide length of felt
over the spindle, securing it to the base with an elastic band.
Since the actual base of the spindle is fairly wide, it is quite stable
as well.
I have wondered when someone was going to come up with a use for CD spindles. I keep looking at craft shows and at my Aunts’ houses for some discovery to come forth. You’re the first.

that was mentioned clear at the end of your extremely long and multi-point comment. there weren’t even photos and you didn’t even actually say that you actually made such a device and that it actually worked. you just suggested this as a possibility. doesn’t count.
Denny, I’m wide awake now so you can point out where Marcus actually says that he actually made the whistle stand. (No offense to you Marcus and although I believe you actually made the whistle stand, you didn’t SAY you made the stand. This is all about Denny’s need to comment in error in as few words but way too many emoticons as possible. And that’s way more important than anything.)

I decided to believe in that Multi-Universe theory and I am wide awake in all other univi and Omniscent and the other two Omni’s too. It’s this universe that’s way too much bother.
