I wanted to add that I can’t find any accomodation there :cry: .

If anyone could help, that would be great.

I would be there from 15 to 22 nd July.

I have been trying to ring the people on the database and they are all saying they are holding for people who stayed last year with them…They are charging 25 euro per night for the accomodation. (?!)

I’ll also be at the Joe Mooney Summer School. Everything is sorted, so I can’t wait to get going … only 3 more weeks! Juhuuu!!

Hi there,

I’ve arrived back from Ireland, after having a wonderful week in Drumshanbo at the Joe Mooney Summer School.

I participated in John Wynne’s flute class, which I really enjoyed. He gave a mixture of new tunes, not just a rake of reels and jigs. And hearing him play in person was a real treat, gave plenty of variations and food for thought. Lovely man as well, very approchful as regards answering questions etc.

The weather was fabulous, I have never experencied better weather ever in Leitrim. It didn’t rain until we got into the car on the Saturday to leave!! :slight_smile:

Due to the wonderful weather, there was always music outside on the High Street. Plenty of sessions going on inside as well, so you could have your pick. Due to everything being within easy reach, it was easy to pop along from session to session or to check out, what was going on next door … For people interested in set dancing, there was a ceili every night. Hard work with the hot weather, I’d say!

I went to both the flute and fiddle recital, which were well worth it. Dave Sheridan lauched his new CD at the flute recital, which we promply bought! The closing concert was very good, if long (4 hours). But that said, there was a wonderful line-up of musicians: Joe Burke, Michael Tubridy and Meabh Ni Lochlainn, Noel Hill, Sarah-Jane Woods, Paddy Ryan, John Carty to mention just a few.

Hopefully I’ll make it again next year! :slight_smile: For now, it’s back to reality…
