Any drum corps heads in here? Just thought I’d ask. I’m splitting my time between this forum and the drum corps forum, being the season is starting. In fact, there is a show in Birmingham tommorrow night.
www.dci.org.
PS. I brought my nick from the drum corps forum. I’ve been vomitbunny their for a couple of years now.
There is a D & B Corp comp at Murray kentucky this week also. You ever heard of the Santa Clara vanguard or the Evansville Knights? I was a Knight during the summer of 1983.
It seems I remember a corps from Evansville at some time or another. I was in Memphis in 80 and 81.
Btw, don’t even think about looking at bugles on Ebay. I bought one. Then two. I think I have five now. I’d still like to get a contra. The old piston/rotor stuff is fun. And the ultratones still play better than some of the stuff that’s around now.
Not myself, but when I was a kid growing up, the first Sunday afternoon of the Illinois State Fair was given over to Drum and Bugle Corps competition. It was also Veterans’ Day, so my dad got us in free. I used to love to sit for hours and watch the competition. Its probably a large part of why I signed up for the freshman (training) band in high school. I always did like the parade and marching stuff lots better than concerts.
GO KNIGHTS!!!
Glassmen caught Spirit tonight. Boston was there. Typical entertaining show. Devils were good but not as good as last year I thought.
Ticket prices were sky high. Best seats were 29 bucks. Heck that’s almost like paying for finals.
You can say that again about the ticket prices…At MSU to watch the comp it will cost me $60 for the family rate.
